Restore.Reinvest.Renew (R3)

What is R3?

Back in 2022, YWCA was awarded R3 planning and capacity building funding from the State of Illinois. These funds empower organizations to develop community plans addressing crucial areas such as Civil Legal Aid, Economic Development, Reentry, Violence Prevention, and Youth Development.

Alton, identified as a high-need area, is eligible for R3 funding due to its challenges with gun injuries, child poverty, unemployment, and incarceration rates. YWCA chose to focus on Youth Development and Violence Prevention in Alton with this grant.

For over a year, YWCA has diligently worked on collecting data with the help of our Consultant, SIU Med School Population Science & Policy, and the community to identify the needs of Alton’s youth.

How YOU can help:

We've hosted multiple focus groups and community forums, gathering valuable insights and advice from community members to improve the well-being of children and young adults in the area.

Now, we invite YOU to participate in our final community forum on Tuesday, February 20th at 6 pm at YWCA's lobby, 304 E 3rd St. Alton, IL. Your feedback on the Draft Plan is crucial as we prepare our final report for service delivery funding. Refreshments will be provided!

Additionally, we'll be holding an internal meeting with our R3 entities, including our Planning Committee, Accountability Team, and other stakeholders, on Thursday, February 22nd. Attend either our Microsoft Teams meeting at 2 pm or the in-person meeting at 6 pm in YWCA's lobby. Refreshments will be provided for in-person attendees.

Your involvement is vital as we work together to uplift our community and create lasting positive change!
